Can I get Paid to Make an Adoption Plan for My Baby?

As you are considering making an adoption plan for your baby, your financial circumstances may play a large role in your decision. Maybe your concern about not being able to provide for your child financially led you to considering giving up your baby for adoption.  We first want you to know that making a plan for your child is not giving up!  You are thinking through all of your options to determine what is best for you and your baby.  This often leads to thinking about money, and some women facing unexpected pregnancies wonder if they can be paid for placing their baby for adoption.

Lifeline’s Pregnancy Counseling Services are completely free and we strongly desire to walk alongside you during this difficult time to help you as you make the best decision for you and your unborn child. While the process of adoption is completely free and of no cost to our expectant mothers, it is not legal to accept payment for placing your baby for adoption.

While you cannot get paid for an adoption, you may receive assistance for pregnancy-related expenses. These could include housing, food, clothing, transportation, and medical care. Your Pregnancy Counselor will help in assessing your needs and help you in making a plan to meet those needs. Our desire at Lifeline is to help you holistically – emotionally, financially, mentally, and spiritually.

It is important to know that you do not want money to be the only thing that you consider when you make a decision regarding your baby. If you do not feel financially stable, your pregnancy counselor will talk with you about resources that are available to help you. In addition, short-term and long-term desires and goals of yours will be discussed as well as a plan to help you achieve these goals.

If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy and would like more information about your options and how Lifeline can walk alongside you, please let us know!  We are available 24/7 by live chat, text, or phone at 1-800-875-5595.  Or you can submit a request for one of our Pregnancy Counselors to reach out to you.
